At the Risikat Education Scholarship (R.E.S) Fund, we believe in the transformative power of the arts and culture to shape societies and inspire individuals. In memory of Risikat ‘Kat’ Iyabo Okedeyi, a visionary in the fields of education and cultural curation, we are committed to fostering the growth of young talents who are poised to become the next leaders in the creative arts sector.
Who Qualifies?
We support exceptionally talented Nigerian citizens or residents who have a passionate commitment to arts and cultural studies. Our ideal candidates are:
Between the ages of 18 and 32 years
Currently engaged in or aspiring to pursue studies in Creative Arts (Fine, Performing, Theatre, Visual, Film), Culture, or African studies at accredited institutions.
Non-traditional creatives who can have a demonstrable involvement in the creative arts or cultural sectors as a practitioner.
Selection Criteria
Academic Excellence: Demonstrated success and ambition in academic pursuits, especially within creative and cultural disciplines.
Artistic Talent: A strong submission that showcases originality and creativity in the chosen field.
Cultural Advocacy: A clear commitment to enhancing and celebrating Nigerian and African culture through various forms of artistic expression.
Community Engagement: Active involvement in community projects or initiatives that align with our mission of cultural enrichment.
