The Risikat Education Scholarship Fund (RES Fund) is dedicated to advancing Nigeria's creative talent by providing scholarships to creative individuals living as artists and university students annually, in honor of Risikat ‘Kat’ Iyabo Okedeyi's legacy in arts and education.

Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?

Nigerian citizens or residents aged 18-32 currently working as creatives and/or pursuing courses related to Creative Arts and Culture or African studies. Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence, community engagement, and a strong interest in African culture.

The scholarship accepts a variety of creative formats including digital artistic portfolios, interactive or digital artworks, and creative pieces related to the theme "What Does a Cultural Hero Mean to You?".

Are there any specific requirements for the personal essay?

Yes, the personal essay should articulate your passion for your field and how it aligns with the Fund's mission. It should be a maximum of 300 words and discuss your understanding of what a cultural hero means in the context of your own experiences and aspirations.

What is the selection process for the scholarship?

The selection process includes an initial review by the AndTop Charity Foundation to shortlist candidates based on eligibility and submission quality. This is followed by an in-depth evaluation and interviews with top candidates for final selection.

When is the application deadline for the scholarship?
